Astrologers

The astrologers who shaped how we read the sky — from the Hellenistic revival to psychological and evolutionary astrology — with portraits, books, podcasts, and schools.

The Hellenistic & Traditional Revival

Recovering the oldest layers of the craft

Robert Hand

Traditional & Hellenistic Astrology

One of the most influential astrologers of the 20th century. Co-founder of Project Hindsight and founder of ARHAT (Archive for the Retrieval of Historical Astrological Texts), which recovered ancient Greek and Latin astrological texts and revived traditional Western astrology. His Planets in Transit remains the definitive reference for transit interpretation.

Psychological & Archetypal

Where the chart meets the psyche

Liz Greene

Psychological & Jungian Astrology

Co-founder of the Centre for Psychological Astrology (CPA) in London, established in 1983 with Howard Sasportas. Holds a doctorate in psychology and is a qualified Jungian analyst. Her books bridge astrology and Jungian depth psychology — Saturn: A New Look at an Old Devil is among the most important astrology books ever written.

Howard Sasportas

Psychological Astrology

Co-founder of the Centre for Psychological Astrology with Liz Greene (1948–1992). Author of The Twelve Houses and The Luminaries, he brought warmth, depth, and humanity to modern astrology — redefining it as a language of psychological insight and compassion.

Richard Tarnas

Archetypal Cosmology

Philosopher and cultural historian (born 1950) who revived astrology as a serious discipline of meaning through The Passion of the Western Mind and Cosmos and Psyche. Drawing on Jungian archetypes and planetary cycles, he describes a participatory cosmos where human consciousness and celestial patterns unfold together.

Evolutionary Astrology

The chart as a map of the soul’s journey

Jeffrey Wolf Green

Evolutionary Astrology

Founder of Evolutionary Astrology (1946–2016), who redefined the craft as the study of the soul’s evolution across lifetimes. His Pluto: The Evolutionary Journey of the Soul reframed astrology as a sacred psychology of transformation.

Steven Forrest

Evolutionary Astrology

A pioneer of evolutionary astrology — an approach that reads the birth chart as a map of the soul's evolution, emphasising choice and personal agency. Author of The Inner Sky, Yesterday's Sky, The Book of Pluto, and many others. Winner of the 1985 PAI Award for Outstanding Contribution to Astrology.

Origins & History

When astrology and astronomy were one sky

Galileo Galilei

History of Astrology

The father of modern science (1564–1642), who united observation and faith at the dawn of the Scientific Revolution. Trained in astrology, he redefined the study of the heavens through measurement and mathematics — transforming astrology’s symbolic cosmos into astronomy’s precise universe.
